Promoting Ocean Conservation and Environmental Awareness
The oceans are the lungs of our planet, essential for a healthy Earth. Yet, pollution and overconsumption threaten marine ecosystems, with plastic waste being one of the most critical issues. Microplastics have become a growing concern, affecting marine life and human health. Studies estimate that humans consume up to 5 grams of microplastics each week—equivalent to the weight of a credit card.
At Yantai Agrati Fastener Co., Ltd., we are committed to sustainability and environmental protection. On October 26, our Sustainability Team organized a meaningful event titled “Care for the Earth, Protect the Ocean – Hand in Hand to Create a Clean Blue Ocean.”
A Two-Part Ocean Protection Initiative
This impactful activity combined education and action to raise awareness about ocean conservation:
- Educational Session
Participants learned about the critical importance of oceans, the alarming state of ocean pollution, and how China is working to protect marine resources. Practical tips were shared to inspire individuals to make small, everyday changes to protect the oceans—such as reducing plastic use and properly disposing of waste. - Beach Cleanup at Yantai Tianyue Bay
A group of 18 volunteers, including Yantai Agrati Fastener employees and their families, came together to clean up beach litter. The collected waste, including a significant amount of plastic, was disposed of at a designated garbage station provided by the Environmental Sanitation Department.
Small Actions, Big Impact
Participants were shocked by the sheer volume of waste found along the beach. This highlighted the urgent need for everyday actions—like using fewer plastic bags and ensuring waste is disposed of properly—to make a difference in preserving our oceans.
